Members, along with Chief Butler and Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman, gathered before the company meeting this evening to officially place in service a new ambulance. After a few words by the gathered dignitaries members ceremoniously pushed the unit into its bay at the station.
Known as Paramedic 35, the new unit is a 2018 International 4300/Horton 623 and comes with many new features including a liquid spring suspension system and the Horton Occupant Protection System, providing enhanced safety for passengers in the ambulance module. Other new components include a Stryker Power Pro XT cot with the Power Load system, an onboard refrigerator, and an IV warmer. It replaces a 2006 International that served admirably for many years.
Thanks go to the members of the New Ambulance Committee and the good folks at HCDFRS for their assistance.
