At 19:18, Engine 31, Tanker 3, and Engine 52 were dispatched for a vehicle fire. A caller stated there was a bus on fire near the intersection of Ten Oaks Road and Triadelphia Road, while another caller said there was a garage on fire. Due to the uncertainty of the location and fire type, the box assignment was dispatched. Units arrived to find three buses on fire in the parking lot of Bowen's Bus Service on Ten Oaks Road. Engine 52 pulled an attack line and used the compressed air foam system (CAFS) to begin the fire attack. Engine 31 laid out from Ten Oaks Road from where Tanker 3 dropped its folding tank while 31's personnel pulled another attack line off of Engine 52. Water Supply 3 staged at the cistern on Triadelphia Road near Rosemary Lane in case the water was needed while the cistern at Folly Quarter Middle School was utilized to fill Tankers 3, 5, and 13.
The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal. Chief 5B had the command and was aided by Chief 3B, while Chief 2B had safety. Units cleared at 21:08.
