At 22:28, units were dispatched to Routes 32 and 99 in the 3-60 box for a two vehicle collision with one driver reportedly unconscious. Units arrived to find a pickup truck and passenger vehicle involved in a "T-Bone" collision. As crews began stabilization of the passenger car the driver self-extricated himself. The pickup truck then caught fire and crews began extinguishment. One patient was transported to Howard County General Hospital priority 3 by Paramedic 35 and there were two no patients. Units operated in frigid conditions, utilizing Ambulance 36 as a shelter for the two no patients until they arranged rides, and the Maryland State Highway Administration was requested to responded with a salt truck due to extreme icing. Chief 3B held the Rt. 32 command and units cleared at 23:05.
