After two consecutive cold and snowy Sundays, volunteers, contingent personnel, and career firefighters from West Friendship and the Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department returned to the house off of Ten Oaks Road in Dayton for a final day of training. This time, crews worked in very spring-like weather with temperatures in the low 70's.
After running through a few training evolutions, members stood by as the house was burned to the ground. Participants used this opportunity to observe fire behavior in a single family home (something that's hard to duplicate in a training burn building), as well as practice exterior operations. Thanks to Heritage Realty for facilitating the use of the house!
