Engine 31, Engine 32, and Chief 3B responded tonight mutual aid to Carroll County for the working building fire. At 22:25 Station 3 was dispatched to the 1700 Block of Liberty Road for a commercial strip center on fire. Sykesville Tower 12 was first arriving and reported heavy smoke coming from the front of the building and advised that they had a working fire. The incident went to two alarms due to the extremely low temperatures and high winds. Upon arrival Engine 31 laid 600 feet of 4 inch LDH to the scene to supply Sykesville Engine 123 and extended a handline to the roof via Baltimore County Truck 18. Members went to work on extensive overhaul while Chief 3B assisted Fire Attack. Units were able to contain the fire to one of the businesses and the roof of the strip mall. Engine 31 was last to clear after racking up frozen sections of hose.
