Early this morning amid severe thunderstorms at 04:15 Tower 3 was alerted for a reported house fire on Heatherwood Court in Frederick County. While enroute Frederick dispatched units for a reported church fire on Harrisville Road and Tower 3 was placed on the call. Carroll Engine Tanker 14 was the first on scene and reported fire from the roof. Tower 3 was the second truck on scene and staged in a position to respond to other incidents due to heavy lightning in the area.
After clearing the church fire Tower 3 was picked up on a Carroll County Station 1 (Mount Airy) box for the reported shed on fire next to a house. Carroll Engine 141 was first on scene followed by the tower with a shed fully off. Engine 141 made a quick knock on the fire and Tower 3 cleared shortly after at 09:55.
On the way back to quarters the tower came upon a possible car fire at I-70 eastbound at the Howard/Carroll County line that turned out to be a mechanical malfunction. After assuring the safety of the motorist, Tower 3 cleared and returned to the station at 10:45.
