Firefighters from West Friendship and the SFDFD were alerted this rainy Saturday evening for a vehicle collision. At 19:17, units responded to Route 32 and I-70 for a reported SUV that had rolled over. Engine 31 arrived to find a Ford Explorer that had left the roadway between I-70 and the Park and Ride and was resting on its side. The single occupant of the vehicle was conscious and required extrication to be removed from the vehicle.
Crews from Engines 31 and 32 began patient and vehicle stabilization, and Carroll Squad 12 arrived soon after to begin the extrication. The patient was quickly removed from the vehicle and transferred to Paramedic 35 and was transported Priority 2 to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Chief 3 held the Route 32 command, and units cleared at 20:30.
