The West Friendship Volunteer Fire Department today responded to a request for assistance by the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services by sending Paramedic 36, staffed with three volunteers and upgraded by a paramedic, to the Columbia Triathlon in Centennial Park and the surrounding area. Paramedic 36, along with several other transport units, stood by during the bicycling and running portions of the race. Fortunately Paramedic 36's services were not needed during the seven hour detail.
