Station 3 members spent the early morning hours at a building fire today that brought firefighters from three counties to fight the blaze. The alarm was received at 04:10 for a fire in a commercial building at Marathon Power Equipment (formerly Back Yard Power) at 15095 Frederick Road in the 4-4 box. Station 3 responded big, bringing Engine 31, Tower 3, Tanker 3, Tanker 34, and Paramedic 35 to the scene.

Paramedic 45 arrived to find smoke and fire showing from the Alpha Bravo corner. Engine 31 was the second arriving engine and pulled a 1 3/4 attack line to side D and another 1 3/4 attack line to back up Engine 41 and assisted with overhaul and extinguishment in the A/B corner. 31's crew then checked for extension with the thermal imager and performed a secondary search of the premesis, while Tower 3 was assigned to overhaul and the utilities. Paramedic 35 stood by with 45 for the medical group, and Tanker 3 and Tanker 34 staged in the event a water supply shuttle would be needed (it was not).

Paramedic 35 and Engine 31 cleared the scene at 05:28 after the fire was declared out to handle a medical call in the 3-10 box along with Tanker 3 and Engine 51.

Mutual Aid: Engine 31, Tower 3, Tanker 3, Tanker 34, Paramedic 35.
