Church Fire in Mount Airy

At 18:33 this evening units from West Friendship were dispatched to Carroll County for the report of a building fire. Rescue Engine 32 and Tanker 34 responded to the 7100 block of Watersville Road at the Mount Airy Mennonite Church to assist units from Carroll County.
Units from Mount Airy VFC arrived first to find a single-story church with fire showing from the roof. Units commenced an aggressive interior attack and were able to bring the fire under control with the added help of Carroll Tower 12's master stream.
The origin and cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal. Units cleared at 20:27.
