At 21:57 tonight our crews responded to a house fire in Glenelg. Howard County Communications received multiple calls of a home on fire in the 14200 block of Day Farm Road in the 13-18 box, alerting the station to respond. Upon arrival units found a two story single-family home with fire showing from the delta side and initiated fire attack. Engine 31 attacked the bulk of the fire in the garage while Tower 3 performed a search of the 1st and 2nd floors of the house. A rural water supply operation was set up at the cistern on Dorsey Mill Road to supply units with water on the scene as the area is non-hydranted; Tanker 34 and Tanker 17 were utilized to shuttle water. The fire was declared out at 23:58. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the HCDFRS Office of the Fire Marshal. |
