Engine 31 responded to Marriottsville in Carroll County this morning for the reported house fire. At 10:09 the station was alerted for the 1700 block of Carpenters Drive in Company 12's first due. Upon arrival Engine 31 and Carroll Engine 123 found smoke showing from the rear of a single family home. 31's crew located a fire in the kitchen, which they quickly extinguished with assistance from Company 12. Reports indicate that the stove and a toaster oven were in use at the time. After performing salvage and overhaul, Engine 31 cleared at 12:50. No injuries were reported.
