It was a busy day in the Sykesville area of Howard County on this Valentine's Day. At 13:56 units were dispatched to the area of Route 32 and Coventry Meadows Drive for the reported collision with entrapment. Callers advised that there was one patient who was unresponsive. Units arrived on Route 32 closer to River Road to find a rear end collision with one patient trapped and commenced extrication. Chief 3, with command, requested aviation and Maryland State Police Trooper 3 responded to transport the patient to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Sykesville Freedom District VFD's Rescue Squad 12 assisted with the extrication and units cleared at 15:13. Route 32 was closed in both directions while units operated on scene.
