On Sunday, May 27th flash flooding in the late afternoon caused one death and extensive property damage to the Main Street area of Ellicott City once again. Members of WFVFD maintained multiple crews overnight and responded to calls for service in the Ellicott City area throughout the storm. Engine 31, Water Supply 3, and ATV 3 responded to Main Street during the initial stages of the incident and worked closely with crews from Stations 2 and 8. WFVFD members have also been staffing Rehab 1 (housed at Station 8 currently) each day this week, providing food and beverages to personnel working in the area. Donations of food from Mission BBQ, Manor Hill Tavern, Carrabba's Italian Grill, and Outback Steakhouse have been much appreciated by all. The WFVFD will continue to provide personnel and resources to the recovery effort in Ellicott City.
