Units from West Friendship responded to Carroll County tonight to assist on a building fire. At 18:59 the station was alerted for a fire in the area of Henryton Road and Marriottsville Road bringing units from West Friendship VFD and the Sykesville Freedom District FD to the area. First arriving units found a vacant structure, the old Thomas O’Farrell Youth Center, with fire showing. Units from SFDFD went to work extinguishing the fire while Engine 31 worked to establish water supply, assisted by Tanker 3 and Water Supply 3. Units cleared at 21:40 after extensive overhaul operations.
