Early this morning in Sykesville a house fire broke out not far from Main Street in the 7400 block of Spout Hill Road. West Friendship was alerted at 00:19 to assist the Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department with a reported house on fire with possible people trapped. Engine 123 arrived to a working fire in the second story of the house and was able to confirm that no occupants were trapped. Tower 3 arrived on scene and started to throw ladders around the home while crews from Engine 31 and 32 assisted Carroll companies with attacking the fire in the attic where the fire had extended. Sykesville crews then started to cut holes in the roof to vent the fire. One occupant of the home was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview for burns by Paramedic 35.
