Units responded this evening for a house fire just down the street from the station. At 17:32 the tones sounded for a reported house on fire in the 3-01 box in the 12400 block of Old Frederick Road after a neighbor called 911 reporting smoke coming from the windows. Arriving within two minutes of dispatch, Tower 3, Tanker 3, Paramedic 35, and Chief 3 found a two story dwelling with fire from the bravo/charlie corner. Tower 3 forced entry to the alpha door and advanced a hoseline from Tanker 3 to quickly extinguish the fire in the kitchen. Tower 3's crew also provided ventilation in the structure. Engine 31 advanced a line to the second floor to search and Carroll Engine 124 (Sykesville) searched the basement; all searches were negative. After extinguishing the fire crews from Engines 32 and 82 performed salvage and overhaul.
Chief 3 held the command, and units cleared at 19:55 after assisting investigators from the Office of the Fire Marshal. Volunteers at the station staffed Ambulance 36 and Tanker 34 for the duration of the incident.
