Early Morning Rescue on Rt. 32

Units were alerted early this morning for a first due rescue with entrapment with possible fire. At 03:52, units responded to Route 32 near Day Road for a reported vehicle on its side. Units arrived at Route 32 near Deer Hill Road to find a pickup on its driver side with the single occupant, conscious and alert, still inside. Chief 3B established command while Tower 3 stabilized the vehicle using Rescue 42 struts and removed the rear window of the cab in order to extricate the patient. The patient was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma by Paramedic 35 priority two, and units cleared at 04:40.
