Units responded tonight for a rescue with unknown injuries on I-70 in Marriottsville. At 22:29, Howard County Communications began receiving multiple calls for a motor vehicle collision on I-70 near Route 40. Callers said there was a vehicle upside down that was also on fire, causing the call to be upgraded to a rescue with fire. Chief 3B arrived at eastbound I-70 between the Rt. 40 split and Marriottsville Road to find a single vehicle on its roof with no fire. Chief 3B established command and held Tower 3 for a buffer and Paramedic 36 to evaluate the driver, who refused treatment and transport. Units cleared at 23:22 after Maryland State Police arrived on scene.
