The Company Training meeting was tonight, and the topic was Electric Vehicle First Responder Safety. Members met in the training room for a video and PowerPoint presentation by one of our members who is a Tesla vehicle technician, after which we were able to examine a Tesla Model S upstairs in the engine bay.
Members learned about the high voltage system and how to disable it via the cut loop in the event of a crash, the location of certain high voltage components and cabling, preferred vehicle stabilization techniques, airbag locations, no-cut zones, and firefighting procedures involving the high voltage battery.
Thanks to Mike for the training and for bringing a Tesla for us to see up close! See the links below for high voltage vehicle information for first responders.
