Station 3 responded this evening for a reported house fire in West Friendship. At 19:53, the station was alerted to respond to the 13300 block of Frederick Road for the report of a house filling with smoke. Upon arrival Engine 31 and Chief 3 found a two story single family residence with nothing evident. Engine 31's crew pulled an attack line to the front door while Tower 3 met with the homeowner who had isolated the source of the smoke to a single area. After extensive overhaul, investigation revealed the source to be a frayed electrical wire between the first and second floors that was causing insulation in the walls to smolder. Tanker 3's crew set their folding tank up at the end of the driveway with Engine 32 and Water Supply 3 in preparation for a water shuttle, but it was not needed. Chief 3 held the Frederick Road Command and units cleared 21:17.
