At 14:54, units responded to a reported rescue (other) for a subject screaming "help" in the wooded area behind 855 Driver Road in the 3-8 box. Engine 31, Paramedic 35, and Chief 3 responded on the initial. County Police arrived and advised a hunter had fallen from a tree stand in the State Park and was suspended upside down in the tree with his foot stuck in the tree stand. Tower 3 responded to assist and Special Ops 10 was also alerted. With the use of ladders, the hunter was freed by Company 3 units and deemed to be uninjured. The hunter was not wearing a safety harness. With the beginning of hunting season upon us, we encourage individuals to use all appropriate safety gear when utilizing our natural resources within the state. See the link below for a video on tree stand safety provided by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
