West Friendship and surrounding stations responded this evening for a fire in Sykesville. At 20:58 the tones sounded for a house fire in the 1100 block of Underwood Road. An initial caller to Howard County Communications stated that there was a garage attached to a home that was on fire. A second caller advised that there was a fire on the outside of the garage but that it had spread to the home. Upon arrival Chief 3 confirmed an exterior fire with some extension to the residence. After Engine 31 made a quick knock, Chief 3 held it with units from 3, 4, and 13 for salvage and overhaul and units cleared at 22:24.
