After returning from the house fire in Mount Airy, units were alerted for a vehicle collision in the 14200 block of Howard Road. Units arrived to find a single vehicle that struck a tree and was on fire. The driver decided to flee the scene prior to anyone's arrival so there was nobody around. Engines 32 and 51 made quick work of the fire and crews used E32's new Holmatro tool to gain access to the passenger compartment. Units cleared at 12:23.
