| At 11:21 this morning, Engine 31 responded to the 600 block of Sideling Court in the 3-65 box for an open burning. The residents were not at home and the mail carrier observed the fire. Engine 31 arrived and found a large pile of firewood fully involved. Investigation determined that ashes from the fireplace had been placed away from the house but near some combustibles. A slight wind and dry conditions spread the fire to the woodpile. Engine 31 requested the assistance of Tanker 3 to extinguish the fire and units cleared within the hour. |
