2010 Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival

Again this year, members were asked to stand by at the Howard County Fairgrounds for the 37th Annual Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. Held the first weekend of May every year, this year brought record crowds to the Fairgrounds, snarling traffic on Route 32 and I-70 in the West Friendship area. High temperatures and humidity also required several attendees to request the services of EMS. Fortunately, once cooled and rested, most of the patients did not require transport to a hospital.
Between patients, members were able to see some of the sights like the border collie demonstration and sample some of the various lamb dishes that were available for sale.
Thanks to the crews from Paramedics 85, 45, and Ambulance 56 for their assistance, and as always, we look forward to next year!
