Strong winds and low humidity led to multiple brush fires along the Route 1 corridor in Howard County today. Brush 38 and ATV 3 were special requested for fires in the Elkridge area along the Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC)/CSX railroad. They joined crews from Howard, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, and Prince George's Counties in fighting numerous fires that were approaching homes and businesses. Engine 32 transferred to Station 6 for the fill in, and Rehab 1 (housed at WFVFD for March and April) responded as well.
