Station 3 responded this evening for a house fire in Station 8's area. At 21:43 the tones sounded for a reported house on fire in the 3000 block of Mullineaux Lane in Ellicott City. The caller advised Howard County Communications that there was fire through the roof and he wasn't sure if everyone was out of the house.
Upon arrival EMS 2 and Engine 82 found a two story single family home with fire indeed showing from the roof on the alpha side with all occupants out and accounted for. Engine 82 stretched a 300 foot attack line to side alpha while Engine 31, arriving shortly thereafter, extended a 200 foot 1 3/4" line from Engine 82 to the alpha side. Units were able to knock most of the fire from the exterior and then advanced into the structure to mop up. Units from station 3 cleared at 00:01.
While operating on the scene, another structure fire was dispatched on Corporate Court just a short distance away. Several units were able to clear the initial fire on Mullineaux Lane and respond to the reported fire in an office building. Units forced entry and made quick work of a fire on the interior alpha side and cleared at 00:45.
